Federal grant will buy new equipment

CHADWICK – The Federal Emergency Management Agency has given $67,688 to the Chadwick Fire Department for operations and safety.

The funding came form the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, which seeks to strengthen the nation’s overall level of preparedness and ability to respond to fire and fire-related hazards.

The department plans to use the money for self-contained breathing apparatus and equipment to help downed firefighters.
