Mumford & Sons topic of meeting

ROCK FALLS – Blackhawk Hills Regional Council government officials, organization, and guests gathered May 15 at Basil Tree Ristorante in Dixon.

Josh Albrecht, executive director of Dixon Main Street, was the keynote speaker. He talked about the August 2012 Mumford & Sons concert and 2-day festival. 

The Volunteer of the year Award was presented to the Savanna Historical Society for its work on the Savanna Heritage Museum and Cultural Center.

The Carson DeJarnatt Economic Development Award went to Jason Anderson, economic development director for the Greater Rochelle Economic Development Corp.

The officers for the 2013-14 fiscal year are Ron Colson, president; William Tonne, vice president; and Glen Kuhlmier, secretary/treasurer. Blackhawk Hills Regional Council serves Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson, and Whiteside counties.
