Religious organizations accepting baby items

Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, with area churches and Fox 39 and WTVO 17 television stations, will sponsor a Community Baby Shower.

Now through June 7, donations of food, diapers, blankets, and new or gently-used baby clothes will be accepted.

Collected supplies will be donated to the Caring Center in Sterling and Hope Life Center in Dixon.

Items can be dropped off for the Caring Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays at Christ Lutheran School, 2000 18th Ave., Sterling.Donations also can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily at New Life Lutheran Church, 702 W. Lynn Blvd., Sterling.

Items for Hope Life Center will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1013 Franklin Grove Road, Dixon.

Through Thrivent Financial chapter program, members come together in service to help communities and congregations.
