The Cal Stage Band will be one of the four bands performing June 8 at the Pink Alley Rally behind Champs Sports Bar and Grill and The Depot.

STERLING – Looking for a night of local music?

Look no further than the alley behind Champs Sports Bar and Grill and The Depot.

The Pink Alley Rally on June 8 is a fundraiser for Team Underwires, a local nonprofit organization that raises money to benefit local breast cancer programs.

The rally is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the group, second only to its signature Proud to Wear Pink! motorcycle ride in August.

The rally, in its fourth year, features four local bands – Noyz Boyz, Poison Apple, New Shoes and The Cal Stage Band – food vendors and raffles all in the alley and the adjacent parking lot near the bars, 216 and 214 Locust St.

Raffles include a 50/50 raffle and another raffle for a motorcycle, an ATV and $500. (Only the $500 winner will be drawn at the rally. The motorcycle and ATV winners will be drawn at the motorcycle ride in August, although tickets to win those prizes will be sold at the rally.)

“It’s just a great evening of local talent ... for a great cause,” said Sandi Ivey, president and co-founder of Team Underwires. “It’s a fun evening to socialize, too.”

The event runs from 5 p.m. to midnight. Attendees must be 21 or older to enter.

Admission is $5, and all proceeds go to Team Underwires to benefit their selected local charities – The CGH Health Foundation, Home of Hope Cancer Wellness Centers and Hospice of the Rock River Valley.

“It’s so good for the community,” said Denny Strader, owner of Champs. “All the money stays local to help local people.”

Team Underwires, founded in 2008, has raised more than $300,000 for local charities to provide health care services for uninsured and underinsured men and women with breast health issues.
