A full moon or two ago while paging through a magazine, I noticed a cartoon. The old adage states, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” I’ll try to be an artist and paint a picture in your mind for you to contemplate.
On the floor of the playroom is the diaper-wrapped tiny baby learning how to crawl. The baby, learning and exploring, is the fascination of the family. Gurgling and drooling are part of the baby show.
Soon, someone else becomes the added act. A tiny kitten is performing its acrobats. What a find. Eureka. Baby sees kitten; kitten spots baby.
The kitten crawls closer to the gurgly, diapered new friend, as if saying, “Do you get all the care, the protection, the lawful rights, the respect that I get, even when I’m safe inside my mama?”
