TAMPICO – Edna Fern Swartzentruber Schrock was born July 9, 1925, near Kalona, Iowa, to Loyd and Elva (Kempf) Swartzentruber.

She peacefully passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, at her home, at the age of 87 years, 10 months, 11 days.

She was united in marriage to William Jacob Schrock on Dec. 3, 1946. They shared the joys and sorrows of life for more than 58 years.

This union was blessed with four sons and four daughters, of which seven survive; Bertha (Mrs. Clarence Headings) of Blue River, Wis.; Nancy of the home; Clifford (Marie) of Bellevue, Iowa; Larry (Leola) of Middletown, Mo.; Lenora (late Herman Hostetler Jr.) of Deer Grove; one infant daughter, Miriam Jean, who died at the age of one day; Earl (Leona) of Deer Grove; and Stanley (Carolyn) of Leola, Pa.

She is survived by her seven children; 32 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and a host of stepfamily, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and daughter, Miriam Jean, in infancy.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fairfield Amish Mennonite School in Tampico. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Fairfield Amish Mennonite Church in Tampico. Garland Funeral Home in Tampico is handling arrangements.
