Business notebook: Starlight's upgrading dance floor

Published: Saturday, May 25, 2013 1:20 a.m. CDT

STERLING – Starlight’s Theatre and Lounge is replacing its wood floor with a snazzy vinyl, black-and-white-checked floor.

Not only will it go with the lounge’s color scheme, it also will be easy to maintain, owner Jerry Criss said.

Work on the 600-square-foot floor should be done this weekend, and the public will get a chance to check it out when the lounge at 314 First Ave. reopens June 7.

Hours are from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

The lounge, and its checkered floor, also are available for special events. In fact, there’s a wedding reception there June 1.
