Walmart TV thief gets probation

STERLING – A Sterling man was sentenced to 4 years of probation for stealing a 42-inch TV from Walmart on March 16.

Johnathan M. Woods, 36, pleaded guilty to burglary in Whiteside County Court. The state dismissed a theft charge.   

Woods was also sentenced Thursday to 120 days in jail; with credit for time served, he was released Saturday.
