Dixon Knights of Columbus Council 680 members provided an honor guard during the Mass.

DIXON – Those attending the April 30 Sterling Deanery Mass for Life at St. Anne Catholic Church were greeted by reminders of the culture of life.

There were sidewalk chalk drawings and posters by the children of the school, life banners, a First Communicants procession, and crosses on the front lawn commemorating the loss of lives each hour.

The rosary was recited, and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was celebrated by the Rev. Michael Morrissey.

The concelebrants were Monsignor Thomas Dzliek of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls, the Rev. William Antillon of St, Mary Church in Morrison, and the Rev. Father Bernie Sayer of St. Patrick in Dixon. There were many deacons and the Knights of Columbus members in attendance.

A reception and light meal were after the Mass in the Father Callahan Room at St. Anne School. There were more than 200 people present.
