FULTON – Craig Wright will present “Lou Henry Hoover and Her Cross Country Journey,” Thursday.

The program is part of the Volunteer Millers at De Immigrant Windmill series, “Lincoln Highway Centennial 1913-2013: Travel & Tribute.”

Wright will speak at 6 p.m. at the Windmill Cultural Center, 111 10th Ave., across from the city’s Dutch windmill.

He will talk about President Herbert Hoover’s wife and the travels she took throughout her life. His focus will be on her illustrated scrapbooks and comments about the trips. Her life story includes her cross-country car trip in 1921, more than 3,700 miles along the back roads of America, and traveling around the world five times.

Since 2004, Wright has been an archivist at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch, Iowa. Before to moving to West Branch, he served as the curator at the Minnesota Historical Society in St. Paul, Minn. He has spoken at conferences throughout the Midwest as well as conducted numerous workshops. Although he serves as a specialist in digitization efforts at the Hoover Library, he also is a cataloger, answers reference questions, and works closely with students and teachers.

Refreshments will be served after the presentation. The facility is wheelchair accessible.

There is no charge to attend.
