Police looking for hit-and-run driver

ROCK FALLS – Rock Falls police are looking for the driver of a green pickup truck involved in a hit-and-run around 9 p.m. May 8.

A Hyundai Sonata was southbound on First Avenue near the intersection with U.S. Route 30 when the truck turned west and hit the car, causing at least $1,500 in damage, Officer Jarrett Ludwig said.

According to witnesses, the truck then stopped, backed up and took off westbound on Route 30, Ludwig said.

The Sonata owner said the truck driver had very short or shaved hair.
