Plant sale was a success

Published: Saturday, May 25, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

Fulton’s annual plant sale was deemed a success by event organizers.

We would like to thank those who donated plants, purchased plants, and assisted during the sale. Proceeds help benefit landscaping needs near the windmill area.

The plant sale is sponsored by the University of Illinois Whiteside County Master Gardeners and the Friends of the Windmill. The annual project is held the second Saturday in May.

If anyone has gardening questions, call the horticulture hotline at 815-772-4075, from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays or Fridays, now through September.

Rock Falls is considering a ban on leaf burning. Should the city finally take that step?
Yes. Sterling and Dixon have had bans for years. It’s time for Rock Falls to impose a ban.
No. It would be too great a burden for homeowners to dispose of fallen leaves in other ways.
