MORRISON – Marcia L. Ortega, 55, of Morrison, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at her home.

She was born July 2, 1957, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Dale Arden and Phyllis Glendora (Dale) Crow. She was educated in the Morrison grade schools, and attended Morrison High School. She married Stanley Hicks in July 1974, in Sterling. She later married Rudolpho “Rudy” Ortega on Sept. 28, 1991, in Morrison.

Marcia first was employed by General Electric in Morrison, and then Drives Inc. in Fulton. Most recently, she was employed by Happy Joe’s Pizza in Morrison. Marcia attended Crossroads Community Church in Morrison. She enjoyed “garage boutiquing” and riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Marcia also loved planting flowers.

Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Shannon Nehrkorn of Morrison; one son, Toby Hicks of Rock Falls; her mother, Phyllis McCulloh of Urbandale, Iowa; six grandchildren, Kanyon Crady, River Ladd, Joeyanna Scott, twins Arabella and Addison Hicks, and Forest Hicks; one sister, Brenda (John) Cavallo of Boca Raton, Fla.; two brothers, Daniel (Stacey) Crow of Cumming, Iowa, and Timothy McCulloh of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her father; and her mother-in-law, Guadalupe “Lupe” Munoz.

There will be no visitation. The memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Friday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, with the Rev. Rita Wolf officiating.
