Justice must be done for attack victim

Published: Monday, May 20, 2013 1:15 a.m. CDT

I was riding the senior bus recently, and an elderly amputee gentleman in a wheelchair got on the bus with obvious injuries to his remaining leg. It was covered in road rash.

He told me two young guys pushed him out of his wheelchair and onto the road.

I found this very disturbing. What kind of juveniles push an elderly amputee out of his wheelchair and leave him lying in the road? Where are their hearts? Have they no compassion or empathy for mankind?

How did they become so cold and unfeeling? What if they were the one in the wheelchair? Why didn’t they think of that?

I have grown grandchildren who are so very loving and caring, like so many other young people. It’s so sad those two are not.

I hope justice is done for the elderly gentleman. I hope juveniles such as those two receive help through counseling and grow up to be kind and compassionate men and not criminals.
