MESA, Ariz. – Ruth (Doonan) Bulfinch, 92, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Morrison, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in Mesa. Ruth taught at various one-room schools in the Morrison area, and taught first grade in Morrison.

She was born March 10, 1921, in Renville County in Minnesota, the daughter of Raymond and Hanna (Carlson) Johnson. She married Lyle Doonan on May 8, 1942, in Coal Valley. He preceded her in death on April 19, 1977. She later married Alonzo Bulfinch on March 19, 1982, in Mesa. He preceded her in death on Aug. 12, 1990. She was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church and Velda Rose United Methodist Church in Mesa.

Survivors include one daughter, Nadine Davis of Mesa; two sons, Donald (Marianne) Doonan of Eldridge, Iowa, and Richard (Patricia) Doonan of Chicago; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Glenn Johnson.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Saturday at Morrison United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dan Schenck, pastor, officiating. A graveside service and inurnment will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison is handling arrangements.

A memorial has been established to Morrison United Methodist Church.
