Bustos posting weekly schedule

Published: Wednesday, May 15, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos, D-East Moline, is posting her weekly schedule of official meetings on her website “to promote further transparency and openness in government and to stay accountable to her constituents,” she said in a news release Tuesday.

Constituents will be able to see who she is meeting with, and what she is doing, in her official capacity as their representative in Congress, she said in the statement.

Go to bustos.house.gov/about/schedule-of-official-meetings to see the schedule, which will be updated weekly.

Bustos, a former journalist, also said she has joined the bipartisan Transparency Caucus, which seeks to enact legislation to bring openness and accessibility to the federal government.

Bustos represents the 17th District, which includes Whiteside and Carroll counties.
