POLO – Members of the Polo Woman’s Garden Club brought variety to their annual plant sale April 27.

Perennials such as sun and shade plants could be purchased. Also available for sale were handmade glass garden decorations.Already-potted plants were being sold in containers such as old shoes and a blue toilet.

Helping with the sale were Dorothy Kjosling, Marlene Mackey, Rosemary Roberts, Perry Rubino, Betty Swanson, and Flo Wragg.

Ellen Ebert and Chassity Duncan won garden gift baskets.

The club will mark its 85th anniversary this year. Plant sale proceeds will go to beautifying sites around Polo and supplying garden-related educational materials.

Members also donated to Polo’s new pool bathhouse, Centennial School’s milk/snack program, 4U Charity, Lifeline Pantry, and Polo Fire Department, among others.

The club traditionally prepares flower arrangements for the Polo Community High School alumni banquet in June and in recent years has sponsored a garden walk and two flower shows.
