Letters to the Editor

Some hearts are hardened beyond remedy

Who or what tells on us?

Remember when you were a kid, you didn’t want to be told on? Or when is the last time you told on someone, or someone told on you? Kid stuff? Not necessarily. If we have a conscience, we might still be told on.

I concur with Charles Becker’s letter to the editor on April 27 that we do choose to either yield to conscience or to harden our hearts. Have we, as a nation, hardened our hearts beyond remedy? Only God knows. What about you?

Publicly we have been pretty successful at stomping God out of civic life. I fear that the collective guilt for the shedding of innocent blood of more than 50 million fetuses destroyed by abortion may have seared our conscience. And who forces their beliefs on these kids?

Now with a little tweaking of the definition of marriage, maybe we could achieve the last measure of getting rid of God down to the family level.

Will there prove to be any conscience left in order of receive mercy in the coming judgment?
