Motorcycle ride for Relay for Life

ROCK FALLS – The third annual Ride for the Cure photo motorcycle ride, in which participants take photos of their bikes, cars, and trucks at the entrances of six area state parks, is coming up May 18.

The event is sponsored by the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Morrison’s Whiteside County Relay for Life team, Bethesda Blaze.

Admission is $15 per person, which includes a T-shirt; proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Registration runs from 9 a.m. to noon at Gieson Motorsports, 800 E. Rock Falls Road in Rock Falls.

The parks on the 170-mile ride are Apple River in Jo Daviess County; Castle Rock, Lowden, and White Pines in Ogle County; Mississippi Palisades in Carroll County; and Morrison Rockwood State Park in Whiteside County. They can be visited in any order.

Riders will meet up at 4 p.m. at KJ’s Bar and Grill, 115 W. Main St. in Morrison, to get their prizes. Food and beverages will be available.
