The Dixon softball team needed only three hits in a 9-0 nonconference win over North Boone on Monday at Reynolds Field.
Erin Smith had a double and an RBI for Dixon (7-10). Smith also pitched two scoreless innings in relief of winning pitcher Beccah Jones (4-6). Rachel Musser drove in two runs.
Daytona Geesey and Brooke Bailey both drove in runs. Bailey also stole three bases.
Sterling 16, Streator 2: The Golden Warriors busted a Northern Illinois Big-12 West game wide open with a 14-run, 35-minute top of the seventh in Streator.
The Golden Warriors (15-1, 6-1) led just 2-0 entering the seventh. Bailey Oetting had three RBIs and was one of five Sterling batters to drive in multiple runs.
Stephanie Kester worked the first six innings to get the win. She struck out two and allowed just one hit.
Rock Falls 9, Mendota 2: The Rockets overcame an early 1-0 deficit in an error-filled Big Northern West game in Mendota.
Julie Dodd (5-0) struck out seven in the complete-game victory for Rock Falls (19-3, 8-1). Her catcher, Jessica Stickel, had two hits and an RBIs, and Jordan Giddings went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Both stole a base.
Bureau Valley 5, Newman 3: The Comets committed seven errors that led to four unearned runs in a Three Rivers home loss.
Laura Turnroth took the loss, allowing six hits, striking out three and walking one. Madalyn Klein had a triple and two RBIs for Newman. Sarah Trujillo had two doubles.
Irini Petros picked up the win for Bureau Valley. Petros had eight strikeouts and five walks. Caitlyn Scott drove in two runs for the Storm.
Fillies sweep Panthers: Morrison swept a double-header at Prophetstown, beating the Panthers 11-0 in five innings in Game 1 and 5-4 in Game 2.
Allie Wiersema earned the win in Game 1. She also had four hits. Chelsea Eads had five hits total and drove in two runs in each game for Morrison (17-3, 13-1 Three Rivers).
Savannah Mettler had two doubles in the second game for Erie-Prophetstown. Kali Schroeder and Amanda Bertolozzi each drove in a run.
Amboy 15, Oregon 2, 6 inn.: The Clippers scored seven runs in the top of the sixth inning to put away the Hawks at Oregon Park West.
Cassey Doege had three hits and five RBIs for Amboy. Kelsie Thurman had four hits and three RBIs. Lauren Akre earned the win in the circle.
Bree Tourtillott had two hits for Oregon.
Orangeville 3, Forreston-Polo 2: The Cardinals saw their eight-game winning streak snapped in an NUIC East road game.
Meagan Cullor went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs in the losing effort for Forreston-Polo (9-8, 6-5).
Milledgeville sweeps Dur-Pec: The Missiles outscored the Bulldogs 34-1 in 10 total innings.
Emily Bush and Morgan Adolph combined for a no-hitter in the 21-0 Game 2 romp, the former working two innings after homering in the 13-1 opener, the latter striking out seven after driving in three runs in Game 1. She also homered in the first game.
Kelsey Hayen had four RBIs in Game 2.
