Men charged in home invasions

ROCKFORD (AP) – A Winnebago County judge has ordered two men each held on $5 million bond on charges they broke into Rockford and Rockton homes and attacked elderly residents.

Both 18-year-old Coreyon Brown and 19-year-old Cortez Brown pleaded not guilty on Monday in Winnebago County court. The men would have to each post $500,000 to be released. Prosecutors sought bond of $10 million for each. Cortez Brown’s attorney, Glenn Jazwiec, requested bond of $200,000. Jazwiec said his client has no criminal history and is father to an infant.

The men face charges including attempted murder, home invasion and armed robbery.

Another suspect, 19-year-old Monique Kimble, also is charged. She pleaded not guilty and her bond is $3,000.
