Wednesday

MURDER/CHILD BATTERY CASE: Tiffany D. Fassler, 37, of Dixon; charged with first-degree murder and four counts of aggravated battery of a child. Police say she kicked her 6-year-old stepson in the chest on Dec. 30, 2010. He hit his head on a bathroom vanity, suffering serious brain damage, and died Nov. 10, 2011.

On the docket: Status hearing.

HEROIN CASE: Ted N. Valdes, 36, of Dixon; charged with delivery of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a senior citizen center, delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a church, and possession of a controlled substance.

Police say Valdes sold less than a gram of heroin, worth about $100, to an informant in April.       

On the docket: Preliminary hearing.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY CASE: Susan E. Emmole, 44, of Dixon; charged with residential burglary. Police say Emmole stole cash, coins, and watches from a home on the northeast side of Dixon on Aug. 9.

On the docket: Preliminary hearing. 

MARIJUANA CASE: Jenetta J. Welty, 34, of Dixon; charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver, and possession of 10 to 30 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police say they found drug paraphernalia, prescription pills, a half ounce of marijuana and an unspecified amount of cash in her home on April 13.

Thursday

MURDER CASE: Brian C. Sigler, 34, of Dixon; charged with first-degree murder. Police say Sigler strangled his wife, Yolanda, 34, before trying to kill himself in their Dixon home on Jan. 13. 

On the docket: Pretrial conference. 

MURDER CASE: Matthew W. Welling, 32, of Amboy; charged with first-degree murder and two counts of home invasion. Police say Welling pushed his way into the home of Delmar Leroy Daniels, 79, on July 18 and killed him during a struggle. 

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

MURDER CASE: Steven A. Watts, 56, of Berryville, Ark.; charged with first-degree murder in the connection with the beating and suffocation death of Gary D. Dawson, 30, of Peoria, in late August 1983.

On the docket: Pretrial conference. 

BATTERY/INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER CASE: Charles T. George, 35, of Dixon; charged with two counts of aggravated battery of a child, aggravated domestic battery, and involuntary manslaughter. Police say George shook his 3-month-old daughter, Tamari, in September 2010; she died several days later from blunt-force trauma to the head.

On the docket: Pretrial conference.

SEX ASSAULT CASE: Russell A. Frey, 36, of Dixon; charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault. Police say Frey had sex with a 12-year-old girl in late January 2012 and again in February 2012.

On the docket: Hearing on motion to admit accusations of prior sex abuse.

SEX ASSAULT CASE: Jordan LeMay, 22, of Ashton; charged with three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child. Police say LeMay raped a girl younger than 13 in summer 2009.

On the docket: Ruling on motion to suppress statements made to police.

HEROIN CASE: Alax M. Farster, 36, of Dixon; charged with two counts each of delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, delivery of a controlled substance,and possession of a controlled substance. 

Police say Farster sold heroin to an informant more than once during a 6-month drug investigation. He was arrested Nov. 27.

WHITESIDE COUNTY

Tuesday

RECKLESS HOMICIDE/DUI CASE: Chad E. Morse, 41, of Rock Falls; convicted of aggravated DUI alcohol. Morse killed a 33-year-old pedestrian in a drunken-driving accident on Nov. 26, 2011.

On the docket: Sentencing. 

Wednesday

THEFT CASE: Terry G. Gibbs, 35, of Rock Falls; convicted of burglary. Gibbs and another man stole scrap metal from a rural Sterling business in Jan. 22 and sold it for cash. 

On the docket: Hearing on motion to vacate judgment and sentence and withdraw guilty plea.
