Beulah V. Milnes

MORRISON – Beulah V. Milnes, 94, of Morrison, died Sunday, May 5, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Beulah was born July 3, 1918, in Albany, the daughter of Jesse and Mabel (Shook) Naftzger. She married Walter Milnes on Feb. 3, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1999. Beulah was a teacher at three rural schools for many years. She and her husband dairy farmed all their lives. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and showing produce and baked goods at the fair. Most of all, Beulah’s family was very important to her.

Survivors include two daughters, Wanda of San Francisco and Diane (Paul) Glispie of LeClaire, Iowa; one son, Tom (Penny) Milnes of Morrison; one sister, Leola Naftzger, and one brother, Wes (Judy) Naftzger, both of Albany; five grandchildren, John Glispie, Tina (Ryan) Boothe, Scott Milnes, Bryan (Brittany) Milnes, and Shaun Milnes; three great-grandchildren, Morrigan Glispie, Paige Milnes, and Cara Boothe; and many nieces and nephews who were important to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Lois Foster; and four brothers, Warren Naftzger, Harlan Naftzger, Russell Naftzger, and Lyle Naftzger.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1601 16th Ave. in Fulton. Graveside service will be at noon Thursday at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks officiating.

A memorial has been established.
