STERLING – Carol A. Dickhut, 87, of Sterling, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.  

Carol was born Nov. 9, 1925, in Wellman, Iowa, the daughter of Joe and Alta (Ropp) Erb. She married Donald Dickhut on Oct. 25, 1970, in Sterling. He preceded her in death on Oct. 23, 2000.    

Survivors include two daughters; Cheryl (Bruce) Frank of Sterling and Pamela (Ralph) Quiring of Santa Rosa, Calif.; three sons, Kevin (Debbie) Wade of Lincolnshire, Brent (Michelle Alderfer) Wade of Coleta, and Barry (Mary) Dickhut of Sterling; one brother, Keith (Helen) Erb of Phoenix; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Craig Wade, and one grandchild, both in infancy.

Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday and the funeral at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Schilling Funeral Home in Sterling, with Maribeth Troyer, Carol’s niece, officiating. Burial will be at Science Ridge Mennonite Cemetery in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to Hospice of the Rock River Valley.
