Published: Saturday, May 11, 2013 1:15 a.m. CST

MORRISON – Staying mentally fit requires more than just doing crossword puzzles or word searches.

There is increasing evidence that brain health is directly related to body health.

Learn more about the aging brain and how to keep it fit at the Gardening for Your Brain workshop.

The course will be offered from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursdays, June 6, 13, 20, and 27, at the Whiteside County Farm Bureau Building, 100 E. Knox St.

Janice McCoy, University of Illinois Extension Family Life Educator and a Master Gardner will conduct the workshop. Those attending will create a take home garden project. The cost is $20.

Visit at http://web.extension.illinois.edu/clw to register. For more information, call the extension office at 815-772-4075.
