THOMSON – Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River Refuge will offer free tours to the public.

Golf cart trips will be the first and third Thursday and the third Saturday of the month from May through October. The tours are suitable for all ages. The next tour will be Thursday.

Participants should arrive at 7:45 a.m. for the 8 a.m. tour from the Ingersoll Wetlands Learning Center, 7071 Riverview Road.

The tour ends at 10 a.m.

Birding tours will be available the second Saturday and third Sunday of every month from May through August. There will be a tour today and May 19.

Those attending are asked to be there at 12:45 p.m. for the 1 p.m. departure from the Lost Mound office parking lot at 3159 Crim Road in Savanna.

Information will be provided about the history of Lost Mound, formerly the Savanna Army Depot. Tours will return at 5 p.m.

Seating is limited.
