Wayne C. Boehle

1935–2013

PRINCETON – Wayne C. Boehle, 77, of Princeton, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at Heartland Health Care Center in Henry.

He was born July 10, 1935, in Amboy, to Herbert and Iola (Conderman) Boehle. He graduated from Princeton High School in 1953. He farmed northeast of Dover for most of his life. He married Betty Lashley on Aug. 31, 1954, at United Methodist Church in Ohio. He was a member of Princeton Moose Lodge. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, especially seeing the American West, reading, hunting, welding, ironwork, and restoring old tractors.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Boehle of Princeton. Also surviving are two children, Kerry (Terry) Boehle and Susan (Rick) Fandel, both of Princeton; four grandchildren, Daniel (Justine) Boehle of Salt Lake City, Erin (Kevin) Tomman of Bloomington, Kimberly (David) Morse of Princeton, and Whitney Fandel of Des Moines, Iowa; and five great-grandchildren, Hallee, Payton, Faith, Jameson, and Maxim. Also surviving are two brothers, Allen (Donna) Boehle and Russell (Aldina) Boehle; one sister, Sharon (Dave) Sivers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister in infancy. 

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the memorial home, with the Rev. Derek C. Boggs and Rev. Mary Gay McKinney officiating. Burial will be Friday at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Dover.

Memorials may be made to the Bureau County Food Pantry or the Bureau County Health and Wellness Clinic.
