Job seekers invited to career fair

DIXON – More than 30 businesses will be at Sauk Valley Community College from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday, on the hunt for potential employees.

Several businesses will collect applications, including Nippon Sharyo – a passenger rail car maker that just announced an expansion and close to 100 new jobs to be filled in Rochelle – KSB, E.D. Etnyre, Frantz Manufacturing, BorgWarner, and Crescent Electric Supply.

Information will be provided on what skills are needed in the different fields, and there will be workshops on what local employers look for and want in their workforce. Bring your résumé if you have one.

There will be door prizes, including an iPad and certificates for free Sauk credit hours.

Admission to the career fair, which will be held in the west mall of the school at 173 state Route 2, is free.
