ROCK FALLS – David R. Ballard, 58, of Rock Falls, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at his home.

David was born Sept. 8, 1954, in Sterling, the son of Raymond Dean and Audrey J. (Woods) Ballard. He married his wife, Lucinda, on June 20, 1992, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. David was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. He was a former member of the Rock Falls Eagles Club and the Coleta Sportsman Club. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching Westerns and football, gardening, and especially spending time with his family and grandchildren. David worked at Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. for 28 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lucinda of Rock Falls, three sons, Christopher (Brooke) Ballard of Decatur, TJ (Krista) Ballard of Sterling, and Nicholas Ballard of Rock Falls; five siblings, Laurel (Keith) Daniels of Texas, Ricky Ballard, Terry Maberry, and Mark (Kris) Ballard, all of Sterling, and Tracy Ballard of Rock Falls; one brother-in-law, Walter (Dixie) Coy of Missouri; his aunt, Lorraine (Wayne) Hendryx of Rock Falls; his uncle, Wayne (Pat) Ballard of Kentucky; four grandchildren, Renee, Raegan, Aven, and Dean; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his dear friend, “Uncle” Ronnie Robnett of Rock Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. today and the funeral at 11 a.m. today at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Daniel Behmlander officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling. McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls is handling arrangements,
