ROCK FALLS – Randy S. Pursell, 53, of Rock Falls, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Rock Falls Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Randy was born Oct. 24, 1959, in Sterling to Eldon “Sonny” and Eleanor Pursell. He married Carolyn Sword on June 26, 1998, in Sterling. Randy worked at Allied Lock in Dixon for 12 years. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping and bowling. He loved football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; stepmother, Kathleen Pursell of Rock Falls; daughter, Amanda Pursell of Rock Falls; sons, Joshua Adams (Taylor Novak) and Jeremy Adams, both of Sterling; granddaughter, Arianna; brothers, Robby Pursell and Rodney (Maura) Pursell, both of Massachusetts; stepsisters, Deb and Dianne Snapp of Milledgeville; and stepbrother, Dan (Nancy) Snapp of Sterling.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brandy Pursell; his parents; and his brother, Ricky Pursell.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Roger Carlson officiating.
