DIXON – Irene S. Chandler, 86, of Dixon, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

She was born Nov. 27, 1926, in Peterstown, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Barr) Funfsinn. She worked in the dietary department of the Lee County Nursing Home. She also worked at Holiday Coin Wash in Dixon prior to her retirement.

She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, NAIM and AFSCME.

Survivors include her children, Eugene Chandler of Amboy; Dale (Glenna) Chandler of Holladay, Tenn.; Colleen Howard of Dixon; Dennis Chandler of Ellenton, Fla.; Patricia (Ed) Reglin of Amboy; Julie (Tom) Hoak of Polo; and Kevin Chandler of Amboy; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence; five brothers, Michael, Carl, Peter, Henry and Benjamin Funfsinn; five sisters, Matilda Vaessen, Cecelia O’Sadnick, Edith Koster, Agnes Kozel and Margaret Henkel; and a granddaughter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., today with the rosary at 7:30 p.m., at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. A prayer service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy, with Monsignor Thomas Bales, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Amboy.

A memorial has been established.
