Flora J. Sturgeon

STERLING – Flora J. Sturgeon, 87, of Sterling, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Sterling Pavilion.

She was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Tames, the daughter of Frank and Ruby (Tupper) Dalton. She married Clinton M. Sturgeon on March 6, 1944. He died Jan. 15, 1993.

Flora enjoyed spending quality time with her family, crocheting, as well as fishing.

Survivors include three daughters, Pamela (Bill) Agles of Edwardsville, Ruby (Chuck) Powell of Sterling and Regina (Mark) Marfia of Edwardsville; three sons, Clinton D. (Stacey) Sturgeon of Sterling, Terry (Teri) Sturgeon and Kenneth (Peggy) Sturgeon, both of Rock Falls; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral follows at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Cal Reynolds, pastor of Maranatha Baptist Church in Rock Falls, officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
