Ozella Singleton

AMBOY – Catherine Ozella Singleton, 73, of Amboy, died Thursday, April 25, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family. 

She was born Sept. 22, 1939, in Walter Hill, Tenn., the daughter of Eston and Kibbie (Whitaker) Richardson.

Ozella worked as a travel agent for Travel Consultants in Dixon, retiring in 2001. She was a member of the Amboy Depot Commission; had previously co-chaired Depot Days; and was a member of the Amboy Depot Days Car Show Committee. She also enjoyed her grandchildren and country music.

Survivors include her children, Sue (Dave) Nauman of Amboy, Brenda (Skip) Willett of Dixon, Randy Singleton of Amboy, and Patti (Marty) Richard of Soddy Daisy, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Taylor Singleton, Lindsay Daniels, Josie Willett, Kurtis Richard, and Jessica Richard; two great-grandchildren, Tori and Laci Daniels; two brothers, John (Faye) Richardson of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Kenneth (Brenda) Richardson of Reidsville, Ga.; one sister, Lois Walsh of Cross Hill, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gene and James Richardson; and one sister, Lodus Dunaway.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frank Brozenec officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Repose Cemetery in Amboy.

A memorial has been established.
