Zak White’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning drove in Adam Stenzel and provided the lone run in a hard-fought NIB-12 West game at Richmond Hill Park.

Mendota 2, Oregon 0: Sawyer Reynolds struck out 12 with just one walk, but was outdueled by Trae Blumhorst in a Big Northern West game in Oregon.
Blumhorst tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out nine without a walk for the Trojans. Reynolds allowed two runs and three hits for the Hawks (5-9, 2-4), and Luke Ziegler singled and doubled.
Morrison sweeps Kewanee: No matter the site, the Mustangs had the Boilermakers’ number.
Behind Brock Deter’s strong showing on the mound and at the plate, Morrison (9-3, 7-1 Three Rivers) won 18-11 in the first game of their doubleheader, played at Ashford Field in Clinton. Deter (1-1) drove in two runs and worked four innings of relief to get the win, despite being saddled with four unearned runs.
After driving in three runs in that early game, Bill Lee Greul (3-1) was dominant in a 5-2 victory in Morrison. He allowed one hit, striking out 14 and walking four, in a complete-game victory. In the process, he lowered his season earned-run average to 2.10. For good measure, he also drove in two runs.
Eastland 14, West Carroll 2, 5 inn.: The Cougars scored in every inning to take an NUIC West game in Lanark.
Ty Hartman tossed a three-hitter for Eastland (6-1, 301 NUIC West), striking out six and walking one.
The senior also went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and his brother, Devin, a junior, went 3-for-3 with a homer, four runs scored and two RBIs.
Shaun Magill (0-1) allowed six earned runs and seven hits in two innings for the Thunder (2-10, 2-4).
Durand-Pecatonica 5, AFC 4: The scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning but left the bases loaded in an NUIC East game in Ashton.
Paul Rod and Andrew LeFevre both had two hits and a double for AFC (3-5, 1-4).
Troy Mairs had an RBI and worked the first 4 1/3 innings for the Raiders to take the loss. He allowed seven hits, four runs – two earned – and struck out seven.
Hunter Wenstrom worked the first five innings and allowed two unearned runs to the get the win for Durand-Pecatonica (3-8, 3-2).
