Salute to JA volunteers in Sauk Valley

Published: Friday, April 26, 2013 1:15 a.m. CDT

During National Volunteer Week, Junior Achievement of the Heartland recognizes more than 30 JA volunteers in the Sauk Valley area who help students make a connection between what they learn in school and what they will need to succeed in work and in life.

Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. They provide a valuable perspective on the importance of education to future success, and they help bridge the gap between what students learn in the classroom and how to apply it.

Without the dedication and support of our volunteers, we would not be able to do what we do on a daily basis: bring financial literacy, entrepreneurship and work readiness education to more than 1,400 Sauk Valley area students.

National Volunteer Week commemorates volunteers throughout the United States, honoring the people who dedicate themselves to taking action and solving problems in our communities. I hope you will join me in saying “thank you” to our outstanding JA volunteers.
