Whispering campaign: What is truth?

Published: Friday, April 26, 2013 1:15 a.m. CDT

My wife and current Lafayette Township supervisor were trounced in the previous election. You may say I’m a sore loser.

After the election, a friend said he was told that because of my wife’s mistakes, the township lost out on $100,000 to possibly fix our roads or for other purposes. My other friend verified that he did pass along that information but didn’t confirm the dollar amount. So, what is the truth?

At the regular board meeting on April 16, I went to the township meeting but didn’t have the nerve to bring it up. But I will put it on the agenda for the next meeting.

I’ve learned how effective a whisper campaign can be. It’s a shame that this happens in small communities; friendships will be lost. Politics.
