DIXON – Helen Louise Winters, 63, of Dixon, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. She worked at BorgWarner for 25 years before retiring.

Helen was born July 5, 1949, in Dixon, the daughter of Oliver and Gertrude (Mossholder) Mumford. She married Mike Winters on Oct. 19, 1969, in Sterling. Helen loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her Amma.

Survivors include her husband of Dixon; three sons, Brent Winters of Dixon, Mike (Billie) Winters Jr. of Amboy, and Wade (Jennifer) Winters of Dixon; three brothers, Kenny (Lee) Mumford and John (Neola) Mumford, both of Dixon, and Larry Mumford of Milwaukee; one sister, Winnie Arnott of Dixon; eight grandchildren, Cody Winters of Dixon, Ashley (Gary) O’Dell of Sterling, Kaitlyn Winters of Dixon, Logan, Ashley, and Zachary Winters of Amboy, and Brandon Winters and Tony Stramka, both of Dixon; two great-grandchildren, Brynleigh Winters and Anakin O’Dell, both of Dixon; and dear friends, Brenda, Wendy, and Judy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one daughter, Michelle Winters.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., with family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Sheley, pastor of 180 Church in Rock Falls, officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded.

A memorial has been established to SIDS of Illinois Inc.
