Garage sales, other events this week

POLO – Polo is a veritable hotbed of activity this week.

The Polo Chamber of Commerce’s annual citywide garage sales will be held Friday and Saturday.

Second Hand Rose, 104 Mason St., is holding a Big Bag Sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Shoppers will be given a bag to fill, $4 for adult and teen clothing, $7 for baby clothes.

In addition, the Polo Woman’s Garden Club’s annual plant sale will be held from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the alley behind 105 S. Division Ave.

The second Stopping Traffic 5-K Run, also Saturday, starts with the kids run at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K at 8:30 a.m.

The Polo Area Community Theatre’s production of “The Odd Couple” will be performed at Polo Township Hall, 117 N. Franklin Ave., at 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for children, and can be ordered at polotheatre.org or bought at the door. Thursday is two admissions for the price of one.
