Fundraiser Sunday to help pay Coleta girl’s funeral expenses

ROCK FALLS – A benefit for the family of a Coleta girl who died Jan. 15 will be held from noon to closing time Sunday at Long Shot Bar and Grill, 3312 W. Route 30.

Money raised will help pay funeral and headstone costs for Savannah Stage, 17.

There will be a taco bar for $7 a plate, and a gun raffle for $15 a ticket. The winner must have a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification card. A bags tournament begins with registration at noon; play begins at 2 p.m. The entry fee is $10 for a two-person team. There also will be a silent auction of baskets, National Guard memorabilia, and tanning items, among other things.

There also will be a cakewalk, face painting and a bounce house. Chapman Motor Sports will bring a NASCAR driving simulator, and Wacko the Clown will perform.

There will be a moment of silence at 5 p.m., followed by a balloon release.

Admission to the benefit is free.
