College looking for teachers at adjunct job fair Thursday

DIXON – Sauk Valley Community College is looking for qualified people to fill some part-time teaching positions. Applications are being taken from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at an adjunct job fair at the east mall of the school at 173 state Route 2.

Candidates must have a master’s degree and 15 graduate hours to teach. Courses include art, accounting, biology, business, chemistry, computer application, engineering, English, math, nursing, physics, psychology, sociology, and speech.

A bachelor’s degree and or work experience is needed for adult education, college readiness skills and manufacturing technology. An associate degree and/or related work experience is needed in the nursing assistance program (registered nurse with 2 years of experience), electronics, electrical, graphic design, HVAC, and welding.

Adjuncts also are needed to teach accounting, English, art, basic writing, manufacturing technology, biology, math, business, chemistry, physics, college reading and study skills, college readiness skills (reading, writing, math), psychology, sociology, computer applications, speech and engineering.

Attendees should bring resumes and copies of their academic credentials. Light refreshments will be served.
