DIXON – A Rockford man was sentenced in Lee County Court to 5 years of probation and ordered to undergo drug and alcohol counseling after pleading guilty to criminal drug conspiracy.

Possession of heroin, delivery of heroin, delivery of heroin within 1,000 feet of a school, and another drug conspiracy charge was dismissed.

Police say Raymond K. Brown, 29, and two other men sold an informant about a gram of heroin on Jan. 24, 2012, in a parking lot at Boyd Street and Hennepin Avenue near Dixon High School.

Brown, who pleaded July 29 and was sentenced Friday, was given 248 days of credit for 124 days he spent in jail.
