DIXON – Joanne Hubbell, 76, of Dixon, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at her home. She worked at several places locally, but most recently at McDonald’s in Dixon before retiring.
Joanne was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Dixon, the daughter of Albert and Myrtle (Barnes) Clayton. She married Warren Hubbell on Dec. 5, 1954, in Dixon. Joanne was a member of First Baptist Church in Dixon. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble, playing card games, cooking, and baking.
Survivors include her husband and one son, Michael (Lori) Hubbell, both of Dixon; two daughters, Marilyn (Mark) Paxson of Machesney Park and Janet (Michael) DeLong of Mendota,; one sister, Betty Morgan of Dixon; nine grandchildren, Vicki (Rodney) Frey of Dixon, Emily (Adam Balser) Hubbell of Chicago, Derek Hubbell of Dixon, Shawna (Jesse Watkins) Paxson of Edmund, Okla., Heather (Christian) Traff of Alaska, Katie Paxson of Machesney Park, and Michaela, Nathanael, and Noah DeLong, all of Mendota; and two great-grandchildren, Brennan and Gavin Frey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Ethel Buccola, Maxine Clayton, Marion Clayton, and Lois Kelly; four brothers, George, Al, Richard, and Ed Clayton; and one grandson, Travis Hubbell.
Visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, and the funeral at 4 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Bunyan Cocar, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon. Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.
A memorial has been established to First Baptist Church in Dixon.
