Kenneth V. Koenig

ROCK FALLS – Kenneth V. Koenig, 66, of Rock Falls, died Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. He worked as an installation and repair technician for Illinois Bell for 30 years.

Kenneth was born Dec. 17, 1946, in Chicago, to Clarence and Barbara (Howell) Koenig. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1972. He married Karen V. Doweiko on May 28, 1977, in Chicago.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Brian (Shea) Koenig of Kentucky; one grandson; three brothers, Jerry (Debbie) Koenig of Park Ridge, Donald (Violet) Koenig of Des Plaines, and Michael Koenig of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Linda.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
