THOMSON – Army Corps of Engineers personnel closed two recreation areas Thursday because of high water.

Power was shut off at noon at the Thomson Causeway, and Bulger’s Hollow in Clinton, Iowa. Gates to both sites will remain closed and locked.

The areas will be reopened to the public after they dry out enough to allow safe access by vehicles and debris has been removed. Call the Thomson Park Rangers at 815-259-3628 for more information.
