Sports involvement is beneficial to kids

I would have to say that I am concerned and at the same time, wonder why, with all of the sports programs offered in both Sterling and Rock Falls, it seems like there are fewer kids playing these sports.

Is it because of the way registration confuses some people? Is it the lack of people able to pay the fees? Or is it a lack of knowledge that the sports are available?

If it is the fees, you can ask the sports activity director for that sport where and who might be able to give your child the fee, or whether you can have the fee waived somehow. 

Sports, I believe, is an instrumental part of a kid’s childhood. It helps kids form better behavior and direction. If it is approaching time for a particular sport to be played, ask another parent, the school, or the park district how your child can get involved.

I have five kids, and the more sports each one is in, the better attitude and less trouble they get into. And, by the way, thanks to all the coaches who donate their time.
