Fundraiser to help young missionary set for May 18

Bridget Woodbury, formerly of Dixon, holds a child in Uganda while on a mission trip last summer. She will return to that country and South Africa as a team leader June 15 through July 6. To raise funds for her $5,000 trip, there will be a spaghetti dinner and silent auction May 18 at Sterling First Church of the Nazarene.

STERLING – Bridget N. Woodbury, formerly of Dixon, will go on a 2-month summer mission trip with Global Expeditions to South Africa and Uganda.

Her team will give purity talks to boys and girls, visit orphanages, lead a vacation Bible school, and share the Gospel with many Africans.

To help raise $5,000 for the trip, there will be a spaghetti dinner at 6 p.m. May 18 at Sterling First Church of the Nazarene, 411 13th Ave. Doors will open at 5 p.m.

The meal will include salad, a bread stick, dessert, and a drink. The cost is $8.

There also will be a silent auction. The auction will close at 6:30 p.m., and winners will be announced at 7.
