Evening to help kids in Amboy

AMBOY – Teen Turf’s annual draw down fundraiser will start with dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. May 4, followed by the drawing.

The event will be at the Amboy Community Building, 280 W. Wasson Road. The top prize is $1,500. A silent auction also is planned.

Tickets are available by calling 815-857-4800 or 815-440-8195. The cost is $50 for two people, which covers the meal and a beverage.

The next Teen Turn dance will be from 7 to 10 p.m. May 10 at the center, 235 W. Main St. The dance is for students in fifth grade and older; the cost is $4.

Volunteers sought for after school

AMBOY – Homework Club is available for students in third grade on up at Teen Turf, 235 W. Main St.

This afterschool program is free. Call 815-857-4800 for information. Volunteers to listen to children read are needed.

Aerobics continue at Teen Turf. Senior Moments chair aerobics are at 10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Aubrey Burke also teaches aerobics from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays. Donations are accepted the classes.
