ROCK FALLS – Three vehicles and $10,000 worth of woodworking materials were destroyed in a garage fire Monday afternoon.

Rock Falls Fire Department was called at 2:21 p.m. to 2809 W. Rock Falls Road, where the garage, which was at least two stories, was a total loss, Fire Chief J.W. Larson said.

“It was a big ball of fire when we got here,” he said.

No injuries were reported and nobody was in the garage when it caught fire. Its cause has not yet been determined, he said.

A 1970 Buick LeSabre, a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a John Deere tractor were destroyed, said Pat Dugal, 65, who owns the home and the garage with her husband, Dan, 67. They are insured, she said.

Their Honda Fit was outside the garage; it was damaged but is driveable.

Dugal said her husband was cleaning up and putting papers into a wood stove in the garage shortly before the fire.
