Favorite class: Health occupations [at the Whiteside Area Career Center]. I got to learn about the body, which is cool, because I want to be a pediatrician. I got my CNA and I’m certified in first aid and CPR.
Top teacher: Diana Wade, math. She makes math really comprehensible. She has these books with all the answers – all the work shown out – so we can see where we went wrong. And she’s really good at explaining things.
Extracurriculars: Scholastic Bowl, Drama Club and Student Council; National Honor Society; and the school musical. I’m a BLIND leader, too, and a member of Giving Power to Adolescents.
After graduation: I’m going to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to study pre-med.

I’m in the dictionary next to: Smart aleck – because I am.
Personal trivia: When I was in [middle school], I wrote a short story about aliens and superheroes, and you can tell I was young. I’m not much of an aspiring writer these days.
Dream job: Astronaut. I want to experience zero gravity.

Trading spaces: France. I want to climb the Eiffel Tower, see the Louvre. There’s so much cool stuff there.
Read this: “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley. It’s a very different world from ours. People are trained to like things and not like things. It’s just so different.
