Favorite class: Health occupations [at the Whiteside Area Career Center]. I got to learn about the body, which is cool, because I want to be a pediatrician. I got my CNA and I’m certified in first aid and CPR.

Top teacher: Diana Wade, math. She makes math really comprehensible. She has these books with all the answers – all the work shown out – so we can see where we went wrong. And she’s really good at explaining things.

Extracurriculars: Scholastic Bowl, Drama Club and Student Council; National Honor Society; and the school musical. I’m a BLIND leader, too, and a member of Giving Power to Adolescents.

After graduation: I’m going to Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to study pre-med.

Best friends: Lucas White and Brett Schmidt. We have a lot in common ... and we’re never really bored when we hang out. We always help each other out with our problems.

Favorite musical group: Train.

Favorite actress: Danai Gurira, who plays Michonne in “The Walking Dead.”

Favorite movie: The “Final Destination” series.

Favorite TV show: “The Walking Dead.”

Hobbies: Hanging out with my friends, playing video games and playing Magic.

Favorite game: Dodgeball.

Favorite food: My mom’s enchiladas.

Favorite place to shop: GameStop.

Where do you spend time online? Facebook.

Biggest fear: Losing my friends and family, being alone.

Pet peeve: When I have to explain things to people multiple times.

Haunts: Sauk Valley 8 Carmike Cinema.

I’m in the dictionary next to: Smart aleck – because I am.

Personal trivia: When I was in [middle school], I wrote a short story about aliens and superheroes, and you can tell I was young. I’m not much of an aspiring writer these days.

Dream job: Astronaut. I want to experience zero gravity.

Trading places: Bill Gates. I’d like to know what it’s like to have more money than I would ever need.

Trading spaces: France. I want to climb the Eiffel Tower, see the Louvre. There’s so much cool stuff there.

Read this: “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley. It’s a very different world from ours. People are trained to like things and not like things. It’s just so different.

What do you wish your high school offered? A debate team or club.

What’s a tip you would give freshmen for making high school life easier? Make a lot of friends. Friends are essential in high school.

Shout out to: My neighbors, Bill and Mary Lemmer of Tampico. I call them Uncle Bill and Aunt Mary, because they have known me since I was little.
